LOCAL OUTREACH

Antioch Fort Worth is catalyzing city transformation through the local church by meeting community needs in vulnerable and under-resourced areas. Throughout the year, we have church-wide service weekends, help put together grocery care packages in times of need, and host moms & kids play groups and clothing drives in apartment complexes that are home to many refugees and asylum seekers. Additionally, we partner with Unbound North Texas and Rivertree Academy to serve minors and adults who are at-risk for or are victims of human trafficking, as well as under-resourced students in the Lake Como neighborhood.

Program Specifics

Experience.

Each area of ministry that we offer internships for is uniquely designed with specific learning objectives in mind.

Participants will serve through having consistent supervisor meetings and general pastoral responsibilities. Specifically relating to their role in Missions, interns will gain hands on experience through organizing and mobilizing outreaches of all sizes with local outreaches.

Interns will work directly with our missions director (James Albright) and college pastor (Ben Moss).

Be Mentored in Community.

Each program intern will have the opportunity to be mentored by a local seasoned leader.

Missions Experience

Those who serve as interns will aid with further developing outreach efforts with organizations and efforts AFW already has relationship with. I addition, they will develop new relationships with organizations and efforts on behalf of AFW.

Interns will work with our existing local outreach partners. Current local outreaches we already partner with are: Unbound, Las Vegas Trail Initiative, work among immigrants at nearby apartments

Program Requirements

Upon completion of the 9-month experience, if interns desire to pursue vocational ministry further, we will invite them to apply for the two-year U.S. Leadership Track residency program hosted by the Antioch Movement. If interns desire to lead in the marketplace or home, we will also work to help them take next steps in their discipleship process.
