Program Specifics
Experience.
We believe pastoral training is best done through pastoral ministry. Life-on-life discipleship and mentoring are vital toward developing the character necessary to thrive while leading. Experience is also critical to discerning one’s calling. Interns will serve on staff in the college ministry. This ministry role is designed with specific learning objectives in mind. Participants will serve through having consistent supervisor meetings and general pastoral responsibilities.
Be Invested In.
Interns will have the opportunity to further develop both character and skill. They will join a monthly theological development course as well as a monthly leadership development course that focuses on six main competencies: Leading a vision, biblical preaching, leading a team, discipling a culture, developing others, and pastoring others.
Invest on the Campus.
Each intern will spend 15-20 hrs a week gaining valuable hands-on ministry experience by building community on local campuses, sharing their faith, and discipling college students. Interns will be asked to own a particular area of the college ministry and work on projects tailored to their strengths.
Be Mentored In Community.
Each intern will have the opportunity to be mentored by a local seasoned leader.
Missions Experience.
Interns will be asked to help lead a US or overseas mission trip alongside church planters from Antioch.
Have Fun.
Although the program will be stretching, we also value fun! We will share meals and have parties, so be prepared to have fun while you get trained to lead!
Program Requirements
Upon completion of the 9-month experience, if interns desire to pursue vocational ministry further, we will invite them to apply for the two-year U.S. Leadership Track residency program hosted by the Antioch Movement. If interns desire to lead in the marketplace or home, we will also work to help them take next steps in their discipleship process.
1: Internships are available to recent college graduates, young adults, and adults.
2: Internships will last for 9 months and follow the school-year calendar (August-May).
3: Interns will be expected to raise support for 20 hours a week and encouraged to pursue an additional outside part-time job to help pay living expenses.
4: Interns will be expected to participate in the Antioch Fort Worth Discipleship School. The church will cover all discipleship school expenses.
5: Interns will serve on college campuses in Fort Worth, TX as members of the staff of Antioch Fort Worth.
