ANTIOCH KIDS

Antioch Kids is passionate about equipping kids to be loving disciples of Jesus! Yes, even in preschool! When your kids step in our classrooms, they will learn about God, have fun with friends, and leave feeling known and loved.

Our kid’s ministry volunteers love investing in each and every child. All of our volunteers have been carefully screened with a background check and have undergone safety training.

Program Specifics

Experience.

We believe pastoral training is best done through pastoral ministry. Life-on-life discipleship and mentoring are vital toward developing the character necessary to thrive while leading. Experience is also critical to discerning one’s calling. Interns will serve on staff in the children’s ministry. This ministry role is designed with specific learning objectives in mind. Participants will serve through having consistent supervisor meetings and general pastoral responsibilities.

Be Invested In.

Interns will have the opportunity to further develop both character and skill. We will focus on five main competencies:

1: How to recruit, train, encourage volunteers

2: How to teach and adapting curriculum to different age groups

3: Developing goals and strategic plans, then planning and orchestrating events to meet those goals

4: Learning to serve, envision, and disciple Families

5: Learn how to work with a team

Invest in Kids, Teachers, and Families.

Through serving in our classrooms, working with our teachers, and serving/training our families our interns will gain vision and skills for leading and serving into the future.

Be Mentored In Community.

Each intern will have the opportunity to experience personal discipleship in three month increments with each of our Kids Pastors.

Missions Experience.

Interns will be asked to help lead local kids and family mission trip/s including the Mother’s Outreach Playgroup, in addition to attending discipleship school.

Have Fun.

Although the program will be stretching, we also value fun!  We will share meals, work hard, and laugh a lot, so be prepared to have fun while you get trained to lead!

Program Requirements

Upon completion of the 9-month experience, if interns desire to pursue vocational ministry further, we will invite them to apply for the two-year U.S. Leadership Track residency program hosted by the Antioch Movement. If interns desire to lead in the marketplace or home, we will also work to help them take next steps in their discipleship process.

1: Internships are available to recent college graduates, young adults, and adults.

2: Internships will last for 9 months (August-May).

3: Interns will be expected to raise support for 20 hours a week and encouraged to pursue an additional outside part-time job to help pay living expenses.

4: Interns will be expected to participate in the Antioch Fort Worth Discipleship School. The church will cover all discipleship school expenses.

5: Interns will serve in kids ministry at AFW as members of the Antioch Fort Worth staff.  You must be prepared to attend both services on Sundays morning: one service will be serving, one will be attending worship service.
